Your beta signup details

This notice covers the Barnes Living walking tour beta. It is run by Daniel Shore under the Barnes Living name. You can contact Daniel at danielshore@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your email address is required so we can invite you to a test walk and ask for feedback. You can also choose to tell us which walks interest you, what kind of smartphone you use and another theme or part of Barnes you would like covered.

Why we use it

We use these details with your consent to run the free beta, contact you about it and decide which walks to prepare first. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us.

Page experiments

The site randomly shows one of three page versions. We count anonymous page views and signups for each version so we can see which explanation is clearest. The experiment does not set cookies or use browser storage, and we do not save your IP address or browsing history in the signup database.

Where the information is kept

The signup site and database are hosted by Cloudflare. Signup notifications are sent to Daniel’s Gmail account. Cloudflare and Google therefore process the information on our behalf under their own data protection arrangements. We do not sell your details or share them with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We will delete identifiable beta signup information no later than 12 months after the beta ends, or sooner if you ask us to. We may keep anonymous totals that can no longer be linked to you.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw from the beta, by emailing danielshore@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

No automated decisions

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. The optional answers help us plan test walks; they do not determine whether you can take part.
